Welcome to the Illinois Amateur Softball Association Website and the 2013 season. We anticipate another great year of softball for adults in mens and womens fastpitch, slopitch and coed and in our great Junior Olympic program for girls.
The Illinois Amateur Softball Association is affiliated with the Amateur Softball Association of America. The National office is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In addition to hosting Executive Director Ron Radigonda and his staff, the
Our state association follows the Constitution, Code and Bylaws of the Amateur Softball Association of America. The Official Guide and Rule Book of the National ASA include all bylaws and rules. If any direct rule conflict exists between state and national, the national rules take precedence.
Illinois ASA had another great year in 2012. Our state was in the top ten of the 76 associations in registrations as our final count revealed almost 6,000 teams and over 600 umpires. In the process we conducted 18 state tournaments for men, women and youth. We also conducted a highly successful ASA 12 and Under National Tournament in Moline.
Our organization promises more of the same for 2013. We will host three National Tournaments this season in Normal and Pekin plus the usual JO and adult state tournaments. You will find a complete listing of our 2013 tournaments elsewhere on this website.
Also included on our website are rule and code changes, Illinois Hall of Fame information, a list of our ASA contacts, umpire information and much more. We hope you take the time to visit and or download much of our information.
Good luck to all teams, players, umpires and fans. May you have a great season of ASA competition.
Don Brewer, State Commissioner Illinois Amateur Softball Association
